Pekka Herlevi takes the pro stock Euro cup victory

The third and last round of pro stock Euro cup was driven in France on last Sunday. Pekka and Matti Herlevi took a double victory. At the same time double victory of the whole Euro Cup 2001 was assured. Johannas bad luck continued.

An energetic weekend of tractor pulling was held in Windenhof, near the meeting point of France, Germany and Switzerland. The attendance was far greater than we are used to have in Finland. There were nearly 20000 motorsport fans.

Due to some internal frictions within the French association, all the French Pro Stockers were absent. Therefore only 9 competitors had signed up for the Pro Stock class.

Full Pulls for the Herlevis
Pekka, Johanna and Matti Herlevi made full pulls already on the first round. Admittance to the pull off was secured. Only three more pullers made it to the pull off on the first round.

Pekka and Matti Herlevi passed one hudred metre line again

In the finals Pekka Herlevi’s Sigma Power having plenty of power came to a hold at 109,36 metres. Once more again this summer Matti came second. Also across the hundred metre line, but still clearly behind his father.

- I didn’t have any troubles with Sigma Power. Atmosphere was tremendous in front of such a great audience. After coming home we will start preparing for the main competition of the season, EC in Sweden. According to latest information, 5 of the Finnish pro stocks will compete at the European Championships in Sweden, told Pekka.

Powershift of Doris gave away

Johanna Herlevi’s summer of bad luck doesn’t seem to ease off. This time the powershift broke and the pull was over before it had even started.

- Our Valtras have been superior this summer. But for some reason my tractor has been very problematic and it simply doesn’t want to stay in one piece at all, said Johanna.

In the Super Stock class Mikko Perä made a nice full pull. In the pull off his MP-Lift was heading to the left hand boundary line, got chalk on the wheels and got disqualified.
