Valtra at the opening of  the Euro cup series

The Euro cup series of tractor pulling started last weekend in Herning Denmark. Saturday’s classes were driven in a nice sunshine, but Sunday’s competitors were suffering from the drizzly weather.

Valtra’s pulling team, Herlevi’s family, took part with all of their three pro stocks; Caesar, Doris and Sigma Power. Newly designed Caesar and Doris with their streamlined and massive bodies got admiration both from the audience and the competitors.

Pro Stock class is getting more popular all the time. The competition among those tractors has grown and got tougher. Some of the technical innovations introduced by Valtra team couple of years ago have now found their way to the bonnets of other competitors as well.

Over 20 pro stocks had signed up for Saturday’s class of which 18 showed up at the start line.

Valtra tractors had hardly any grip, because of brand new, slippery track and they lost some precious metres. Despite of that Sigma Power managed to win nearly by ten metres. Johanna and Matti had some technical problems and were placed bottom of the class.

All three tractors will be seen next time on the track in Bernay, France, where the second round for the Euro cup is driven 1.-2.6.2002.
